La mayoría de los pigmentos modernos son líquidos, pero muy concentrados. Casi no hay espesantes, hay una base de agua y alcohol, así como glicerina para que no se sequen. La consistencia es como crema líquida. Continenen mucha más materia colorante seca. En tales pigmentos, es mejor, más conveniente y más fácil trabajar con máquinas de largo recorrido.
